WORKING TOWARDS NET ZERO CARBON WHISKY PRODUCTION

威士忌釀造用穀物特寫

As we keep walking towards a brighter tomorrow, we are focusing on our ongoing commitment to use 100% renewable energy and become net-zero carbon across direct operations by 2030.

But we’re not stopping there. We’re looking at everything ‘from grain to glass-in-hand’ to see how we can be better including helping our farmers and grain suppliers adopt new practices that’ll see them achieve gold accreditations in the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative’s widely-respected Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA).

RECYCLABLE. REUSABLE.

Across Diageo we're working to ensure 100% of our packaging is widely recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2030.

We're also working hard to reduce our total packaging and increase the recycled content in our packaging - delivering a 10% reduction in packaging weight and increasing the recycled content of our packaging to 60%.

In life and in whisky-making, water is our most valuable resource. We’re going to use 20% less water during our production process – while maintaining our whisky’s exceptional quality.

LIGHTER WEIGHT. LESS PACKAGING. BETTER FOR EVERYONE.

Lighter bottles = smaller footprint. We’re making our glass bottles up to 25% lighter, except for Red Label and Black Label because they’re already very light.

Across Diageo, we have removed over 141 million cardboard gift boxes per year across our premium Scotch portfolio, including Johnnie Walker Red and Black Label.
