Johnnie Walker has unveiled its latest boundary-breaking innovation: Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ultra. This first-of-its-kind limited edition product is the brand’s lightest 70cl Scotch whisky glass bottle to date, weighing 180g (without the stopper). According to our research, it is also believed to be the world’s lightest 70cl Scotch Whisky glass bottle ever released to market.
THE FUTURE
Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ultra is a prototype that showcases what luxury, lighter-weight, lower-carbon bottles of the future could look like. With this and the Diageo Spirit of Progress action plan, Johnnie Walker aims to reduce the weight of glass used in its packaging; an ambition that is aimed at reducing the amount of carbon emissions associated with packaging.

THE TASTE
To celebrate this limited edition groundbreaking innovation, a brand-new Johnnie Walker Blue Label expression has been blended by Johnnie Walker’s Master Blender, Dr. Emma Walker. She sought out liquids from distilleries such as Oban, Brora and Royal Lochnagar, as well as a variety of ‘ghost whiskies’, first made in distilleries that have since closed. The result is a unique liquid boasting the essence of fresh red berries, sweet vanilla, wood spice, toffee and warming wood smoke.
