Children over eight are welcome to explore The Johnnie Walker Experience as long as they’re accompanied by an adult (18+) and have a valid ticket for The Signature Experience only.

You can still immerse yourself in The Johnnie Walker Experience if you don’t drink alcohol as there are plenty of non-alcoholic options for all visitors. Enjoy the same premium adventure whether you sip or abstain. Plus, you can opt for a Driver's Kit, featuring take-away miniature whiskies, if you’d rather not drink alcohol on the day. The Johnnie Walker Signature Experience Tour features an English-speaking tour guide, but complimentary audio guides are also available in Spanish, German, French, Mandarin and Portuguese.

You will receive three complimentary cocktails/whiskies during the tour. Extra drinks cannot be purchased at this time, but you are very welcome to purchase drinks at the bar afterwards.

The live performer is only a part of The Johnnie Walker Signature Experience where they will take you through the story of the Walkers and our iconic brand. However, no matter what experience you do, our highly trained ambassadors will take excellent care of you.

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the start of your experience as latecomers may not be admitted. Please note that we will not refund tickets due to lateness.

You are welcome to take photos and share on social media if you'd like to. There are some areas where flash photography/ filming is prohibited but your guide will let you know where these are.

The Johnnie Walker Signature Experience: The whiskies on the tour are available to the public, however, this experience is based on cocktails. These recipes are exclusive to the experience and are not available as take away cocktails in retail or to consume in the 1820 bar.
The Johnnie Walker Collection – a guided tasting: Yes. Everything is available to purchase both in retail and in the 1820 bar.
Luxury Whisky & Chocolate Tasting: This tasting is subject to change however most of the liquid will be available to purchase. Your guide will advise you on the day.
Luxury Cask Draw: The whiskies from this experience are pulled directly from the casks in our whisky cellar. Whilst the exact liquid is not available we do have similar options in the retail space. Your guide will be more than happy to advise you based on your preferences.

We offer senior discounts on all of our experiences and student discounts on the Johnnie Walker Signature experiences. We don’t offer discounts for groups however if you are looking to book a private experience please reach out to reservations.jwps@diageo.com for more information.

Tours can be booked online up to 30 minutes before the experience starts. If you are looking for a tour starting within 30 minutes, you will need to purchase in person at the front desk. We recommend booking your experiences early since capacity is limited and popular times can fill up!

Children 8 years and over are allowed only on The Johnnie Walker Signature Experience - A Journey of Flavor tour and must be accompanied by an adult who is 18 years or older at all times. In addition to the ticket price, your order may require payment of a booking fee per ticket and/or a transaction fee per order. Any such fees shall be notified to you at the time you book the tickets. Please note that those fees are not refundable except as set out in paragraphs 2.4 and 2.6 below. An order for tickets is not complete until accepted by Us.

Most tours at The Johnnie Walker Experience last around 90 minutes (1.5 hours), with some shorter tasting options at about 60 minutes.

Tours at The Johnnie Walker Experience are a set duration, but you’re very welcome to stay afterwards to explore the retail space or enjoy the rooftop bar.

Yes, after each tour you receive a 10% discount on all products (whisky and merchandise) up to the value of £500. The discount can be used for up to 7 days after your visit.

Johnnie Walker offers returns or refunds on goods bought within 28 days if they're sealed, unused, and you have proof of purchase. Your statutory rights remain protected.

We do not offer guided tasting in our retail area but you can browse our tours and experiences available online. If you are interested in purchasing a whisky and would like to taste it first, please speak to a member of staff.

Yes, we are more than happy to safeguard your purchase with us for up to 48 hours. Simply present your receipt to one of our retail team for collection. If items are not collected within 48 hours, your purchase will be automatically refunded, and the products will be returned into stock.

While specific table allocations can't be guaranteed, we’ll note your preference for an outside terrace table. Our spectacular glass-enclosed Rooftop Bar showcases panoramic views of Edinburgh's iconic landmarks. Inside seating is assured, and outdoor tables are available upon request, weather permitting. Access to the terrace depends on weather conditions and is first come, first served.

We require a £5 deposit per person to confirm your booking, but the deposit will be taken off your bill at the time of your visit.

Unfortunately, There is no on-site parking available at The Johnnie Walker Experience site. But, metered parking within Edinburgh City is subject to availability.

We operate using the “Challenge 25” policy so if you are lucky enough to look under 25 please bring ID. Please note that it must be a physical ID such as a passport/ driving license as we cannot accept digital or photos of ID

We currently do not have any lockers or luggage storage facilities at The Johnnie Walker Experience.

As we have many options available to our guests we have something for everyone whether it’s a casual sit down tasting in the afternoon with family to celebrating on an engaging tour with friends. If you are looking to join us on the weekend then we do recommend booking with us or online to avoid disappointment as the experiences can fill up fast!
