W AWARDS BOOTS

In tribute to the trailblazers of women’s football in Australia, we have created five unique pairs of football boots, hand-crafted from the boots these legends walked in all those years ago. The W Awards pair will be awarded to a deserving player during the AFLW W Awards. The pair have been made up of past legends boots including: Kate McCarthy, Libby Sadler, Barb Hampson, and Shannon McFerran.

The Shoemaker

As part of the campaign we approached skilled artisan shoemaker and cordwainer; Matea Glušćevič. Based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia, her previous work has been acquired by the Powerhouse Museum and has featured in several Australian Fashion Weeks. Crafting all five pairs of boots from the 21 pairs of legendary players’ boots, she has used her full skill and design-led approach to help bring these new boots to life.
